Sold!

Everything went pretty much as our real estate agent suggested.  We'd list, let people see the house and "accept offers" at 6pm on the Saturday.

Sure enough, we listed Tuesday, 20 or so people came to see the house, and last night 5 people made offers on it.  The offer we took didn't have any conditions so as of 8pm last night, our house is sold.  Enough over listing value to fund most of the basement renovations on the new house.  :)  I must say I like that part.

It's so nice to have that done.  I don't think it could have gone any better.

We've spent the whole day in the house.  I think after spending every night out, eating out every night, it's good to just be in the house and make our own food.  We can enjoy life again until it's time to move in December.

  1. THis is terrific! I'll have you know, that went better than a couple of recent Toronto sales I've heard about. those only had one offer each. Both went under asking - and in really good neighbourhoods.

    1. Ouch! All the Toronto stories I hear are insane bidding wars. I think waiting until after Labour Day was a very good decision, I'm not sure we would have got that offer a week earlier.

  3. Hurray! I'm glad that this, of all things, went smoothly. You know your first task in the new house is to post sewing room pictures, right? ;)

    1. HA! Yes, for sure. I'm actually thinking I'll do a little sewing this fall, the room is kinda empty and I don't have to keep it pristine for viewings!

    1. You know I have thought of your moving experience a few times in the past week. Every time I found myself feeling a little crazy getting everything just so, I reminded myself that I should be thankful my area is in demand.

Thanks for your comments, I love to have a two way conversation. I seem to be getting a lot of spam from anonymous users and am turning off the ability to comment that way. I really would like to hear from you so if you do want to add your two cents without an OpenId, email me at seraphinalina at gmail dot com.
